Recognition of foreign judgments and international jurisdiction

The September issue centres on international civil procedure. The Court of Justice’s Shopping24 judgment addresses exclusive jurisdiction over insolvency-related claims, and Pome addresses the conditions national law may attach to choice-of-court agreements. The Italian Court of Cassation’s recognition of a German post-mortem paternity judgment is the subject of two commentaries. Among legal developments, Qatar became the 95th Member of the HCCH on 17 September, and Moldova acceded to the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention.

In Turkish scholarship, Fügen Sargın’s book on marital agreements and the applicable law in private international law has been published, together with new editions of Vahit Doğan’s Private International Law (13th edition), Turkish Nationality Law and Turkish Law on Foreigners. APILA’s call for papers for its Seoul conference is open until 24 October 2026.
