1993 Adoption Convention enters into force for the Republic of Korea

Development summary

The HCCH announced that the Convention of 29 May 1993 on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption entered into force for the Republic of Korea on 1 October 2025, following the deposit of its instrument of ratification on 17 June 2025. The Republic of Korea thereby joined the Convention’s 107 Contracting Parties and became subject to its co-operative framework for intercountry adoption.
