2005 Hague Choice of Court Convention enters into force in Bahrain
Development summary
The HCCH has announced that the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements entered into force for the Kingdom of Bahrain on 1 July 2025, following Bahrain’s deposit of its instrument of accession on 13 March 2025. The Convention contains rules on exclusive choice-of-court agreements and the cross-border effect of judgments covered by them; the announcement states that it currently binds 37 States and the European Union.
