Apec Workshop on effective enforcement of business contracts and efficient resolution of business disputes through the Hague Choice of Court Agreements Convention
Development summary
An APEC workshop was scheduled to take place in Cebu, the Philippines, on 1 September 2015. Organised by the Department of Justice of Hong Kong, China, it focused on the effective enforcement of business contracts and the efficient resolution of business disputes through the Hague Choice of Court Agreements Convention.
The workshop was held on the margins of the APEC Senior Officials Meetings and was organised in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Regional Office of the Hague Conference on Private International Law and the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific. Its programme therefore addressed the practical role of choice-of-court agreements in enforcing contracts and resolving commercial disputes.
