The Hague Conference on Private International Law, Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Waseda University organised the Asia Pacific Symposium on the 1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention on 29 and 30 June 2016. The symposium formed part of HCCH Asia Pacific Week, held in Tokyo from 27 to 30 June.
More than 200 people attended, including judges, government officials, legal practitioners, academics and other experts from the Asia-Pacific region and other States. The symposium’s conclusions and recommendations were also made available.
