International conference on 'Cross Border Co-operation in Civil and Commercial Matters through Hague Conventions', Rabat

Development summary

An international conference was held in Rabat, Morocco, on 10–11 November 2014 to examine cross-border co-operation in civil and commercial matters through Hague Conventions. It discussed the relevance and possible implementation of selected Conventions in international child protection, international civil procedure and the production of public documents for use abroad.

The programme covered the 1980 Child Abduction, 1996 Child Protection and 2007 Child Support Conventions, as well as the 1965 Service, 1970 Evidence and 2005 Choice of Court Conventions and the 1961 Apostille Convention. Its scope therefore extended from child protection to cross-border procedural matters and the use of public documents abroad.
