Secretary General visits Latin America

Development summary

At the invitation of the Comisión Técnica of the Ministers of Justice of MERCOSUR and its Associate Members, the Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) took part in the Comisión’s meeting in Buenos Aires on 8 June 2006. The visit formed part of co-operation between the HCCH and MERCOSUR.

The meeting brought together high-level experts from MERCOSUR’s original Member States—Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay—as well as experts from its Associate Members. The discussions therefore included representatives of the four original states, all HCCH Members, alongside representatives of the Associate Members.
