Third meeting of the Working Group on Parentage / Surrogacy

Development summary

The HCCH Working Group on Parentage / Surrogacy held its third meeting in hybrid format from 4 to 8 November 2024. The meeting brought together 47 delegates and other experts, representing 25 HCCH Members and three Observers, together with members of the HCCH Permanent Bureau; the Working Group continued its consideration of draft provisions for a new instrument on legal parentage, including legal parentage arising from an international surrogacy agreement. The Working Group will present a report on the progress of its work to the Council on General Affairs and Policy.
