An Asia-Pacific symposium was scheduled to take place on 25 and 26 June 2015 at the Macao Science Centre in Macao SAR, China. It was jointly sponsored by the Law Reform and International Law Bureau of the Macao SAR, the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR and the Hague Conference.
The symposium was to examine the complementarity between the 1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention and the 1996 Hague Protection of Children Convention. Its focus was the relationship between these two instruments within the international framework for promoting the well-being of children.
