Vulnerable adults – An important step forward
Development summary
A conference jointly organised by the European Commission and the HCCH examined the cross-border protection of vulnerable adults. Held in Brussels from 5 to 7 December 2018, it brought together approximately 130 experts representing more than 35 States from all continents.
Experts stressed the practical importance of the issue. Discussions addressed the current needs of vulnerable adults in cross-border situations, States’ responses and experience, and possible future work in this area of law.
