GLOB­AL­CIT has pub­lished a review sym­posi­um on Lior Erez’s work on re­noun­cing cit­izen­ship without emig­ra­tion. Erez argues that in­di­vidu­als should be able to re­nounce their cit­izen­ship while stay­ing put: where­as long-term res­id­ents may freely choose wheth­er to nat­ur­al­ise, cit­izens can re­nounce only by leav­ing, a con­straint he con­siders un­jus­ti­fied.
